So, when Justin Bieber released the second single off his latest album Believe, also titled “As Long As You Love Me,” it was only a matter of time until the Internet would create the inevitable mashup. Mischief finally came to fruition — and lo and behold look who were among the first to notice!

The “As Long As You Love Me” mashup features two friends on piano alternating between the chorus of BSB’s song and Bieber’s verses. Michael Henry and Justin Robinett share the same piano while harmonizing alongside each other.

Henry and Robinett met while attending college at Texas Tech University. Both a part of the school’s drum line, the duo began experimenting with recording equipment. Much like the career of Bieber, they eventually covered a song and uploaded the video to YouTube for their friends. Turns out a lot more people than they anticipated saw it and it earned the kudos of the Biebs himself.

The singer also debuted a new tattoo of the album name on her arm, Tweeting, “New ink, new album.”

Fans are speculating as to what the acronym of the Born This Way follow-up could mean, but Mother Monster has yet to divulge more information – she is already a month ahead of her original plan to announce details in September.

While Gaga has not confirmed many details surrounding the much-anticipated release, she has given clues as to what to expect.

The singer debuted an ARTPOP track, “Princess Die,” live in Australia in June, and has integrated the song into her regular Born This Way Ball set list. Before performing the track at a Perth stop last month, she told fans that her upcoming music will be a departure from her last effort.

“Let’s just say, I feel that when I wrote Born This Way, I demonstrated a sense of maturity,” she said to the crowd. “And I feel that, on the next album, there’s a lack of maturity, it’s a tremendous lack of maturity or sense of responsibility.”

A month later, fans caught a clip of unheard Gaga material, rumored to be a forthcoming single, blasting out of the popstar’s SUV in a New York City parking garage.

Gaga also confirmed to a British television show, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, that her good friend Elton John will appear in a duet on ARTPOP.

“I’m already working on my next album,” she said on the show. “And I played him a song that I wrote and he really loved it.”

As if prep for the new album is not enough for the busy singer, Gaga is gearing up to launch her first-ever fragrance, Fame, in September and will play La Chameleón in the upcoming film Machete Kills.

Gaga will continue up her world tour through Europe and South Africa until December.

After making it safely through the “seven minutes of terror”– those seven minutes when Curiosity should land but was out of touch with Earth — the one ton, car-sized rover successfully landed on Mars.

“We are the only country that has ever done anything like this,” boasted John Holdren, the senior advisor to President Obama on science and technology issues, to CBS News. “Many new technologies had to work in perfect synchronization.”

If you follow the Curiosity Rover on Twitter, you’ll find NASA is developing quite a personality for it. So we wondered, what might Curiosity like to listen to out there on Mars? Here are some suggestions.

BEP frontman will.i.am is a musician. He’s an entrepreneur. He’s got a car company with Chrysler, an apps company with Intel, and last night he was in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA for the landing of the Mars rover.

If the happy faces from NASA when they got their first picture back of Mars from Curiosity were any indication, Curiosity could use a little good feeling — sadly it has none because it’s just a machine so maybe it could just blast this feel good song in case there is any life hiding in the cracks on Mars.

Usher “Mars vs. Venus” + Jay-Z “Venus vs. Mars”

Not that it’s a contest, but if you think about it even for a rover it would suck to be on Venus. The surface of Venus is about a million degrees, covered in thick clouds of sulfuric acid, and boasts a good amount of volcanic mountains. Basically the worst scenario imaginable.

Mars is dry and hot like Venus, but not as impossible to land a rover on as Venus would be. Plus, the views are spectacular and the sunsets are even better.

Usher and Jay-Z may have meant to refer to Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus with their dueling songs, but we’re sure Curiosity could jam to both while it investigates the surface of Mars.

What’s really cool about going to Mars is that you’re looking at the same stars you see on Earth, but in slightly different places. We know that Curiosity is sure to get some awesome Mars sunset shots, but we hope it has time to grab a few shots of the stars coming out from the surface of Mars too!

Katy Perry “E.T.”

Part of Curiosity’s mission on Mars is to determine if at some point in the past the planet would have been hospitable to life as we know it. While we’re pretty sure Mars never supported any E.T.’s, it’s a great space groove track for Curiosity while it digs down in the dirt to uncover Mars’ past.

NSYNC “Space Cowboy” + Spice Girls “Outer Space Girls”

This doubleheader from the prime of the ’90s boyband/girlband era is a must for Curiosity. Consider it a nod to Opportunity and Spirit, the rovers who investigated Mars before. Sort of an “if you thought NSYNC was exciting, just wait until you see One Direction!” For the space program.

Bruno Mars “Talking To The Moon”

Do you think space rovers get homesick? In case Curiosity does, this could be it’s love song to the Earth. But, on the plus side, Mars has a moon upgrade. The red planet has two moons as opposed to Earth’s one. So Curiosity will have it’s pick of moons to talk to: Phobos or Deimos.

Moby “We Are All Made of Stars”

Can you imagine the feeling of being all alone on Mars? Scary! But you’ve got all of humanity cheering you on. Awesome! Moby’s song is a takeoff of the famous quote from Carl Sagan’s seminal space book, Cosmos: “The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.”

John Mayer “Gravity” + Sara Bareilles “Gravity”

Two sad looks at gravity from pop singers — but did you know Mars only has about 38% of the surface gravity that Earth has? So if you landed on Mars you’d weigh significantly less. That doesn’t extend to emotional baggage, but let’s hope Curiosity doesn’t have any of that.

Karmin “Written in The Stars”

From their covers album, this is Karmin’s take on Tinie Tempah’s song that hit #1 in the UK. If you read your horoscope, then you know it was “written in the stars.” And if you lived on Mars, which is not only in a whole different time zone but is obviously located somewhere very far away then your rising sign and 13 houses would be in completely different locations. Speaking astrologically, if you were from Mars you’d be a totally different person.

Leading lady Jordin Sparks and Derek Luke light up the screen with sizzling romantic chemistry. An aforementioned Green, complete with throwback processed hair, looks like he just strutted off a STAX Records recording studio.

There’s newcomer Carmen Ejogo who plays initial lead singer of a rising girl group but eventually falls victim to drug addiction. And the usually comedic funny man Mike Epps shows off some serious acting chops in a scene that highlights a riveting physical confrontation.

The clip, which clocks in little more than over two minutes, also gives another look at the last big screen appearance of the late Whitney Houston. The iconic singer, who died just three months after production on the 1976 remake ended, plays the mother of Sparkle and her two sisters as they fight through shady record label men, family drama, and the pitfalls of stardom.

If you watched Gabby Douglas and the rest of the gymnastics team win gold this week, you probably heard the latest Idol’s debut single more than a few times. Olympic viewers liked the song so much in fact, they started downloading it.

Industry sources are now saying the song could sell around 200,000 downloads by Sunday, August 5. With this surge the song would make it’s way into the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, according to Billboard.

Phillips’ song originally debuted and peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 with 278,000 downloads after he won AI back in May. But since July 29, when NBC started playing the song, Phillips has found his way back on this week’s Hot 100 chart at number 84.

The singer, who’s currently on tour with the rest of the Idols, also debuted the video for his hit song.

Phillips takes to the road and gives fans a behind the scenes look of what it’s like to take America by storm in a bus. The video was filmed over three days while on his current tour as he drove from Denver to Salt Lake City. He works on his songwriting, jams with his friends and gets to play big arenas. He even stops and peruses a pawnshop, probably not unlike the one his family owns in Georgia.

Keep an eye out for Phillips girlfriend, Hannah Blackwell, who is touring all summer long with her beau.

Sheeran had previously mentioned that he would perform with a “big rock band” at the Olympics, inspiring rumors that he’d play with One Direction, for whom Sheeran wrote the song “Moments.” It turns out that he’ll be collaborating with psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd.

So what’s Sheeran’s role in all this? As he revealed in an Australian radio interview, he’ll be fronting an incarnation of Pink Floyd at the Closing Ceremony, alongside drummer Nick Mason and possibly one other Floyd member. Sheeran said they will perform “Wish You Were Here,” a Pink Floyd classic and the title track off the band’s 1975 album.

Sheeran added that Mason is the only Pink Floyd member confirmed to perform, but that “they’re trying to get someone else.”

The challenge stems from the fact that the band has been feuding over Pink Floyd’s legacy since one member, Roger Waters, quit in the mid 1980s. Yet, somehow, at 2005-s Live 8 benefit, Waters and David Gilmour buried the hatchet and performed a four-song set. In 2011, Gilmour and Mason joined Waters on stage at a London date on his tour.

Acts confirmed to perform at the Closing Ceremony include Jessie J, Taio Cruz, One Direction, Take That, George Michael and The Who. Those still rumored include Queen, the Spice Girls and Annie Lennox. A soundtrack of the Closing Ceremony will be available digitally shortly after its broadcast on August 12th.

Beyonce and her handlers at agency ICM are reportedly shopping the film to a several movie studios, according to the LA Times. The film will be a mix of music and personal study and will also include exclusive concert footage and confessional interviews from the Grammy-winning superstar.

Twenty minutes of footage from the film has been screened to distributors. No word yet if daughter Blue Ivy Carter and husband/hip-hop mogul Jay-Z will make an appearance in the film.

As an actress, Beyonce has starred in several films, including Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), Dreamgirls (2006), Cadillac Records (2008), and Obsessed (2009). Coming off the release of her platinum selling album 4, she is also tentatively set to appear in a remake of A Star Is Born.

The singer recently left a cryptic message on her website that read, “Leave your footprint on 19 August 2012,” prompting speculation for a new project. —Keith Murphy, CBS Local

The band is looking for fan photographs and videos to use in their one of a kind music video. Through their website, devoted Dave Matthews Band fans can upload one or more images and videos for the chance to be a part of the action.

Dave is looking for a wide variety of submissions, from photos of your smiling face to videos of fans singing along to the band. The guys have even suggested different categories to make things a little easier such as “body parts,” where they look for fully clothed pictures of your waist, feet, chest and head, and “show some love,” which asks for photos or illustrations that help display the power of a hug. Sound a little complicated? Don’t worry the band’s website gives you step by step directions on what they’re looking for, so it’s really a piece of cake.

But it’s not just a spot in a music video that’ s up for grabs. The guys will choose one lucky fan to fly out to the final show of their tour in Mountainview, CA on September 9th.

Yesterday, comedian Carrot Top,known for his fire red hair and wild props, took on the adventure-of-a-lifetime with Sky Combat Ace (SCA) – Vegas’ most extreme attraction. The funnyman suited up for a thrilling flight filled with spins, barrel rolls, hammerheads and loops miles above the glittering Strip. He took to the Nevada skies battling his F-16 pilot brother, fulfilling his Top Gun fantasy. Instead of “Maverick,” he opted to go by the call sign “Gambler” in true Vegas fashion. Carrot Top took the controls of the fighter jet for an aerial dogfight, feeling the thrill of “the kill” as he scored two “hits” and smoke flowed from his brother’s plane thanks to SCA’s special effects.

17-year-old swimmer Missy Franklin, who has so far nailed down a gold medal in the women’s 100M backstroke and a bronze in the women’s 4X100m freestyle, got a notable Olympic Tweet from Justin Bieber. It seems the pop star took note of her impressive gold medal win and found out they had something in common: they both dig Justin Bieber.

In addition to Justin Bieber, we know Carly Rae Jepsen is on Franklin’s playlist — she makes an appearance in Team USA’s “Call Me Maybe” lip dub that went viral as the Olympics kicked off.

Franklin may not be done winning gold yet — she’s still got five events to go, including the women’s 200 freestyle.

Franklin hails from Colorado and told CBS News that she’s dedicating all of her Olympic races to her home state, where the Aurora theater shootings occurred while she was training France. “Every single race I’m going to have that Colorado incident back on my mind,” she said. “It’s such a terrible thing and I’m so shaken by it. They’re in my thoughts this entire process.”
